WSP, in corporation with Consolidated Consultants Engineering & Environment, have been awarded the Master Plan Study for the Amman Development Corridor, a project funded by the European Investment Bank.

The scope includes preparation of a long-term strategic master plan, operational plans for early implementation of first key-areas development and planning specific priority infrastructure projects.

The main objectives are:
- This master plan will provide authorities and stakeholders with a common framework to prepare and implement their respective policies and projects, supported by appropriate rules and guidelines.
- To prepare key priority infrastructure projects, designed to launch the development, support the growth of Amman metropolitan area, and demonstrate the advantages of a strongly coordinated preparation of key-area developments.

The process has to be designed in order to develop synergies among public and private stakeholders in order to ensure an efficient economic and social development of this new area in respect with environmental protection. Therefore, the design of the long-term strategic master plan of Amman Development Corridor should improve the ability of relevant planning authorities, public and private stakeholders delivering facilities, public services and real estate developments to prepare and schedule investments and activities.
